The basic objectives are as follows:
The basic objectives of MCS is to empower and strengthen municipalities on matters related to promotion of Municipal International Relations (MIR) by providing advisory support to the municipalties.
Services of MCS
MCS provides the following services to the municipalities:
✔ Support to municipalities to get membership of international organisations related and useful to the municipalities,
✔ Support to explore cities outside Nepal to establish sister city relationship,
✔ Provide information to the municipalities for human resource development, such as fully funded higher study abroad,
✔ Support municipalities to organize training to capacity development of municipal staffs on international relations,
International travel of municipal representatives and staffs:
✔ Explore and support to the municipalities to explore and identify international programs such as international conferences, workshops etc.
✔ Support organize exchange programs between municipalities of other countries and municipalities of Nepal
✔ Provide support to municipalities on visa application, ticketing, accommodation etc, for international travel od officials of municipalities including conference related papers and documents such as speech for the international conference,
